Our Play-Based Learning Approach
At Sea Kids, we believe children learn best through play. Our curriculum encourages hands-on exploration, allowing children to naturally develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.
How We Support Learning
At Sea Kids we believe play-based learning is the most effective way for children to learn. A play-based curriculum is an approach to early childhood education where children learn through hands-on, meaningful play rather than formal instruction. It’s especially effective for preschool and kindergarten-aged children because play supports cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development all at once.
In a play-based program, teachers:
Set up engaging environments (centers, materials, themes)
Observe children’s interests
Guide learning through questions and interaction
Integrate literacy, math, science, and social skills into play
Examples
Grocery store dramatic play → counting money, writing lists, social interaction
Building blocks → math concepts, problem-solving, teamwork
Water/sand play → science concepts like volume and cause-and-effect
